It said, & # 39; Derek remains in intensive care and is still very ill. I'm afraid it will remain an excruciatingly worrying time.
& # 39; The NHS team that has been working on him has been extraordinary and I know only her professionalism, dedication and courage that Derek has kept with us so far. I also know that they work just as hard on all patients in their care.
& # 39; It's difficult to find the right words, just don't thank them enough, but I thank them with all my heart, as I know Derek would do if he could.
& # 39; I want to thank everyone who sent support messages. I'm sorry I didn't respond to them, but I'm sure you understand that I'm doing everything I can to focus on Derek at the moment.
& # 39; However, I see them in quieter moments and they are so comforting and wonderful to read.
& # 39; I am very aware that I am not the only one who is going through this torture, there are thousands of families everywhere worried about their loved ones & also making hundreds more each day that doesn & # 39; have with the least news that their loved ones have been taken by this terrible virus.
& # 39; I want to send a message of love & support to all of you who are going through this. You are not alone; we should all stand together and support each other and I pray that I can talk to you soon with positive news. Much love, Kate. & # 39;
